A shepherd is one that knows his sheep. He knows their tendencies. He knows their weaknesses and fears. He knows how to release a sound that gathers them and keeps them under his watchful eye. He is a protector. He is a defender. Yet, how many sheep know the sound of the shepherd? Do they know His voice? Do they know when he is warning of danger? Do they know when he is ready to move them to a new field? In the days in which we live, there is SO much messaging everywhere you look. Television tells us what to do. The radio tells us what to do. The media tells us what to do. Our family members tell us what to do. Our political parties tell us how to react. Our pastors tell us how to respond. Our own minds try to instruct us on how to move day by day. I speak to people every single day that are completely bombarded by the many voices that are vying for their attention. It often leads to anxiety, confusion and despair.
Let me encourage you. I don’t care who the messaging is coming from. I don’t care if it’s politics, your church, your family or this blog. HEAR GOD. Fast. Pray. Get alone with God and HEAR His instructions for you. This is so important for the body of Christ. It is crucial in this era. You may say, "why are you talking about something we already know about?". Christians know how to hear God. Right? You would be amazed at how many do not hear the voice of the Lord or know how to navigate through circumstances within the boundaries and instructions from God. So many people are walking in confusion and double mindedness because there is mixed messaging coming in all directions. I am here to tell you that we do not serve a God that releases riddles of confusion to His children. He IS clarity. He IS the clear water within the murky bodies of water. Be reminded by Ephesians 4:14:
"Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming."
Are we infants, unsure in our faith or are we matured and ready to hear the voice of our Father? God’s voice is not like the wind. It is like a strike of lightening that stakes the ground within the wind. His voice is constant. It is like an anchor dropped to the depths of the sea. His voice is unmovable within the movable. It is unchanging within the change. It is steadfast within the chaos. It is hope. It is peace. It is joy.
He is one foot in front of the other. He is destiny. He is light. He is your future. Today, you can plant your feet and wear the confidence of God upon you like a garment. You do not wear this garment with faith within your own ability. This garment comes alive and shines brightly when you exercise your faith in the Most High. Assurance in Christ is like the mighty clash of cymbals; it alerts your enemies that the King is near. Allow God to whisper in the ears of your adversary and make His plans of deliverance known. He wants to fight for you, my friend.
